The start of the journey

This is the first post of this year's holidays. Those of you who have followed me in the past will know that I started blogging about my holidays back in 2006 when so many people had asked me to let them know about out South East Asian Cruise that instead of a load of e-mails I turned to the blogosphere.

Since then I have done the same in trips in 2011 and 2012 and enjoyed the writing as much for my own way of remembering the holiday as for my family, friends and acquaintances who have followed and or commented on the trip.

 So here is the start of the 2013 trip in which we will be travelling through 21 of the 48 contiguous states of the USA (plus DC). More importantly in terms of the plans for the trip it is a route which will take me to the remaining 6 of the 48 states which I have not previously visited.  (More of that in a later post).

The Holiday Route

 So here I am at 5.00 a.m. having breakfast and getting ready to leave for the airport. My brother is coming to pick us up and 6.30 and we will be on our way to Heathrow for the start of a three week odyssey (or as some of my friends might say idiocy!)

      Hi Drew,

      I have now sorted the co-author thing. Set it up at the airport two years ago, and did the same now.

      Hmmm, don't seem to be able to comment, but I'm still pondering getting a Nikon D3x00. Been doing that (the pondering) since 2011. :-D

    Thanks Alice, yes all three of us are here. For those who haven't followed the blog before they will need to wait to find out who Jack is. But my regular readers like Robin and you will already know :-)
